Buckner International is a Dallas-based, faith-driven nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives and restoring hope for vulnerable populations. Established in 1879 by Baptist minister R.C. Buckner, the organization has evolved from a single orphanage into a multifaceted global ministry. Its core mission focuses on protecting children, strengthening families, and enriching the lives of senior adults through Christ-centered services. Buckner operates a variety of programs, including foster care and adoption services, family transition support through Buckner Family Pathways®, and community empowerment via Buckner Family Hope Centers®. These initiatives aim to provide holistic care, addressing not only immediate needs but also fostering long-term stability and growth for individuals and families.
Beyond domestic efforts, Buckner extends its reach internationally through programs like “Shoes for Orphan Souls®,” which has distributed over two million pairs of new shoes to children in need across 68 countries since 1999. The organization also engages in humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and educational support globally. With a network of over 11,400 volunteers and a dedicated staff, Buckner International continues to impact lives positively, guided by its foundational Christian values and a commitment to serving the most vulnerable.
